BahiaVista faces the beautiful Los Frailes Bay near Cabo Pulmo . It is located in southern Baja on the Sea of Cortez; it’s a desert-type environment and the sun is very powerful. Lightweight clothing is recommended, as well as plenty of sunscreen. Some suggestions are provided below. PackingList is a downloadable PDF that can be printed. It contains many items that we feel are essential.
- Light weight, fast drying full length shirts, and camping trousers (not jeans) with zip-off sleeves. Exofficio, REI, and Kuhle have great clothing for Baja.
- Fully closed gym shoes or hiking shoes. Sandals and water shoes are also recommended.
- Shorts and Bathing Suits.
- A large supply of sunscreen. We love BullFrog WaterArmor Sport Quik Gel.
- First Aide Kit and MultiFunction Knife or Leatherman Tool.
- Toiletry kit and Prescription Medicines.
- LED flashlight and batteries. They are very low energy and their batteries last many times longer.
- Passport, RFID wallet, and sufficient cash for any emergencies, including some Pesos. The best place to get Pesos in Mexico is from an ATM.
- Snorkel Equipment.
- Camera and Binoculars.
- Chargers for cell phones, tablets and Laptops. USB battery backups are very useful, for ex. AmazonBasics.
